Throughout a three-month reporting process I learned about the disparities facing Black men in the world of college athletics. I interviewed former student-athletes, activists and educators over the past to learn how their student-athlete role affected their college experience, their own self-perception and their transition into a life without sports post-graduation. A result of my capstone assignment required to earn a M.A. in Journalism from the CUNY J-School, this piece has been published by the NABJ Black News & Views.
